True, but who else does he send to help but the knight. The mages were working on the magic network and both of them are unreliable in combat. The druid was under suspicion. The thief is mostly a scout and her combat abilities (judging from the castle ruins in ep 1) aren't spectacular.

he sends no one because that was the agreement. plus he saw that dude is like one thousand years old. the scout would be perfect as they only wanted to find him and not be found. but the help was a hinderance precisely because they were not only observed but used against his own team.
